Carbohydrates in sports: truths and myths
As a recreational athlete and nutritionist I am convinced that a sporty and healthy body starts with the right nutrition. Although a lot of attention is paid to protein as building blocks of our muscles, less attention is paid to the energy supply through fats and carbohydrates. Myths and half-truths predominate, and classic (sports) nutrition brands limit themselves to the unilateral offering of high glycemic or so-called quickly digestible sugars.
I believe it is my duty to provide (recreational) athletes and everyone who is concerned with their health more insights about carbohydrates and the energy supply during physical activity. And how isomaltulose undermines the classic ideas about carbohydrates and sports.
